The Theme of Self-discovery in The Awakening and A Doll House In Chopins The Awakening and Ibsens A Doll House, the main characters each experience an awakening. Although they lead different lives, Nora Helmer and Edna Pontelliers respective awakenings are caused by similar factors. From the beginning, neither character fits the standard stereotype of women in the society in which they lived. Another factor that influences Nora and Ednas awakenings is their marital relationship. Neither Nora nor Edna are treated as an equal by their husband. When each woman realizes that she is unhappy, she understands that she must leave her position and role in life in order to fully find herself. Curriculum as the Heart of Teaching This day I have learned that teaching is a very humanistic profession, and compassion is the utmost feeling of understanding, and showing others you are concerned about them. A compassionate teacher models that characteristic to the students with her/his actions, and as a result students will be more open to understanding the world around them. During this session, I realized that curriculum is my guide to light to lead the learners to the essentials that they should learn. Through curriculum, I can know when to give them a certain lesson, when to let them have the test and exams. I can know when to give them practical evaluations. In it, I can evaluate my students and assess them into which level they have achieved, have been achieving and will be achieved. As a teachers I will therefore learn the new curriculum, this is the primary implication of an ever changing curriculum. This means, t will need to gain knowledge in the new parts of curriculum, in many cases. I will also need to attend sessions such as professional development or better yet, return to school if possible. Teachers may have to change the way they teach depending on how the curriculum is changed. A change in curriculum is a good thing because often times, it is changed to accommodate the learners\ changing needs and abilities. â€Å"Hashtag SIP for Today† For todays’ session, I have learned that SIP means School Improvement Plan. It contains the profile of the school and the community, problem and needs assessment, goals, objectives, standards and targets, implementing plan, communication and advocacy plan, documentation and reporting to stakeholders and signatories. I realized that being a school head is not easy. You have to plan something that will make your school better and one of this plan is the School Improvement Plan. In making School Improvement Plan, I realized that it must not only the school head alone will make the School Improvement Plan instead he/she must include all the members and all the possible involve in her/his school. It must not be a secret to the teachers and to the stakeholders. If someday I became a school head, I will make my school the best of all the best. I will take all this challenges just to make sure that I could improve my school. Consider also what integrity means to you as a manager or a leader and why it matters. Integrity has been defined and described in many ways, but there is one idea that has stuck with me: A person’s integrity is a matter of the value of his or her word, nothing more and nothing less. If you keep your word for every task, large or small, people will naturally trust you with more complex responsibilities. Finally, as a leader, pay attention to self-care. Today it is the global No. 1 or No. 2 in the majority of its fast-growing categories, driven by an exceptional rate of innovation typically about one third of net revenue comes from innovations launched in the prior 3 years. It has a strong portfolio led by 19 global powerbrands which are: Finish, Lysol, Dettol, Vanish, Woolite, Durex, Calgon, Airwick, Harpic, Bang, Mortein, Veet, Nurofen, Clearasil, Strepsils Gaviscon, Mucinex, Scholl and Frenchs, and they account for 69% of net revenue. The company operates through eight business segments: fabric care, surface care, health and personal care, home care, dishwashing, pharmaceutical, food, and other household. RB has 25 formal training modules for middle management and Top 400 international managers (T400). During 2011, the Group ran over 80 courses on these modules, training over 652 people. At RB, Management is international and is trained through rotation in international postings both in countries and in the Groups central unctions. Succession planning is a critical management discipline and is reviewed annually (at least) by the full Board and the Executive Committee. RB closely monitors the Top 400 international managers (T400). The T400 being a multi-national management team reduced the added complexity of managing work in different languages, currencies and different political and legal systems thus giving a competitive edge over other companies. Technology Technology plays a major role in improving the efficiency of Supply Chain Systems. Approximately 9000 clients were spread throughout the domains and each one was managed with its own unique set of common rules and procedure. Through the investment in Microsoft windows server 2003 enterprise edition, they were able to reduce the number of domain to 3 and servers to 627. This helped in creating a central network system and provided a good and robust environment for managing Rds operations this because many of its application drive critical processes such as placing orders and providing real-time in response for roduction and shipment of goods. 2. Xtrim Xtrim optimization system is software which offers solutions for advanced planning and scheduling. This helped RB in cost saving. Another such cost saving program called the Squeeze 50 was also used by them. These programs helped push Rds operating margins up 0. 8 percent to 13. 4 percent in the year 2003. 3. The Xpress-MP Operational data of procurement, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution were collected and an optimization model was created using Xpress-MP software. The model basically demonstrated how costs could be reduced for a given supply chain configuration.
